lardeedarh

I am still sore all over from that little bit of running around I did at basketball on Saturday. It hurts to walk. This must be how old people feel, except every time I go "ouch", I get this deep sense of satisfaction. Yeah, that's right. I'm aching from EXERCISE.

The basketball was great fun. Had an awesome time doing the Esther-wave on court, and even more cheering for everyone. IMC owned all (in my eyes). Great job, soldiers!

Lesson #4546 in winning at school:
If you have not finished doing your homework, do NOT do it in the class of that particular subject, on the day that it is due. It screams "I AM GUILTY". Instead, pretend you have everything under control and hope like hell the teacher forgets. Importantly, do not fear. If he/she actually remembers and decides to check - i.e. the "who has NOT done their homework" situation - be the first to put up your hand.
The others will follow.
I promise.

And it's your lucky day, because you get a double dose!

Lesson #3265 in winning at school:
If you are feeling extremely sleepy in class while the teacher is explaining something on the board, frown a little. If you're lucky, your teacher will think that you know something that they don't and out of pride, will not question you. At the very least, they will think you are just a little slow, but hey, at least you're making the effort. They will not tell you off.
Don't ask me why, but it works.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, do the eyes-closed, book-on-table, look-like-you're-deep-in-thought thing, no matter how awesome a trick you think it is. Teachers know this little tactic. They do it all the time when they're "marking the year 9 tests".

I used #3265 today. Except I think my Physics teacher knew I was sleepy, but he assumed I was still making the effort to understand him.
Importantly, I didn't get told off.
So there we go.

I really should study for my test and EPW tomorrow.
Time to go.

this is a high school musical moment

The TEE marks the end of our schooling days; the end of strange school uniforms; the end of smelly classrooms.
When the TEE is over, we will no longer have to worry about how many Cs we need to achieve to graduate, whether or not 52% gives you a pass in English, or whether Newton-Raphson was made to torture, or bore.

The TEE seems scary and horrible and you-just-don't-want-it-to-happen; but we cannot wait until it is over. When we finish our last paper, we'll be happy. We'll smile, and laugh, and burn our books. We can smell how close we are to blissful lack of brain activity.

But we're also beginning to realise something else.

How are we going to get used to not seeing each other everyday?

We don't all talk to each other everyday; some days, we don't even see each other. But we know that we're all around... somewhere.

We don't know why we all hang out together, why we do things together, why we even LIKE each other. We just do.
And as much as we actually kind of enjoy the holidays when we don't have to see each other all the time, suddenly, the fact that we're all going in very different directions hits us and we realise...

Well, we'll just have to find another way to get in each others' faces now, won't we?

Speaking of getting in your face...

This is the result of an experiment to prove just how lousy I am at taking pictures of myself. I couldn't even fit my whole head into the frame.

Nicole did a lot better than I did. At least you can see both eyes.

But this one takes the cake. I like :)

Ohhhh yeah. The school fees are going a really long way.

Yesterday, we felt sad knowing that our mass stupidity could only last for three more months.
Today, we forget about it, because we have three more months. And we're all still in it.

We'll look back at this photo one day and remember what great idiots we were.
But we'll know we were all idiots together.

We'll know, we were all together.

the funny story

I said,
Tell me a funny story, please.

So he said,
There once was a boy who found a pencil.
Unfortunately, the pencil wasn't sharpened.
So he went and sharpened it.
Then with the pencil and a piece of paper, he started drawing.
His drawings were horrible at first, but as he drew more and more, they got better.
But as he got better, he also started to look for better stationery to draw with.
So he threw the old pencil away.

Then I asked,
Is there a moral to this story?

And he said,
Then the pencil came back and poked his eye out.
The end.

I loved it.

what we REALLY do in Chemistry

It was Educational Video Day in Chemistry today.

And yes, it IS as riveting as you are imagining it to be. All that and more!

So Sarah decided to do a little bit of doodling.

It came out just a little bit on the emo side, though.

So I decided to do a bit of doodling myself. Of the happier sort.

This made Sarah feel much lighter, so she made more doodles!!

We really got into the whole stubby people thing (mine less stubby than hers), and while she made her million and one mini-drawings, I made one more.

But whoa, Sarah was really feeling the love

So now you know what we really do in class.
It may look like we're diligently making notes, but you know better.

Yeah. That's right.
We're making Picassos.

it doesn't get more random

I have survived my first week back to school after the mid-year break, assessments and all.
I am ninja.
NINJAH!

And yes, I realise I blog less during holidays. The horror.

Something more horrible:
7 weeks to mock exams.
14 weeks to TEE.

The silver lining:
14th of November. After my Physics paper.
3.5 months of mind-blowing brainlessness.
Oh yeah.

So it's all good.
Except for the kim-must-study bit.
But I'll live.

I really need to make a new playlist.
I go through phases and I change my playlist about once every two weeks. And then I'll listen to it until I get over it. Currently, it is a mix of RnB, Hillsong and Wang Lee Hom. Don't ask me what my state of mind was when I put that together.

But yeah, I really need a new playlist because right now, it's on shuffle, and I'm hearing hey she want that lovey dovey (lovey dovey), kiss kiss (kiss kiss) and then suddenly it's my God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save before it goes to ni bu zaiiiiii, dang wo zui xu yao ai, ni que bu zaiiiiiii.

It's screwing with my mind. So I need a new list.

This has got to be one of the most random posts I've ever written.

sunny days

I had a great day.
Happiness :)))))

Sunny days, keeping the clouds away
I think we're coming to a clearing and a brighter day
So far away, still I think they say the wait will make their heart
Grow stronger or fonder, I can't quite remember anyway

So if you're waiting for love
Well it's a promise I'll keep
If you don't mind believing that it changes everything
Time will never matter

Winter, spring, it's what love can truly bring
Ice turns to water, water flows to everything
You can lose your mind, maybe then your heart will find
I hope you won't give up what's moving you inside

So if you're waiting for love
Well it's a promise I'll keep
If you don't mind believing that it changes everything
Time will never matter

If the car won't start when you turn the key
And the music comes on,
all your cold cold heart can do is skip a beat

It's a promise I'll keep
When you're waiting for love
If you don't mind believing that it changes everything
Time will never matter

live it

because it's astonishing and wonderful and surprising.

because it's something so big, and yet so easy.
something so small, but oh so difficult.

it's different and scary and always new
and you'll never understand it because it's beyond reason and control and anything even remotely resembling sense.

but it's terribly addictive.

because it's fantastic and frustrating,
painful and confusing,
beautiful,
comforting,
challenging,
breathtaking,
heartbreaking,
insane,
inspiring,
tough,
awkward,
phenomenal, remarkable, exceptional,
and altogether amazing.

it makes us extraordinary.

so be extraordinary.
