i saw on the news today that andy caldecott, an australian motorcycle rally rider crashed his bike and died an instant death. the first thing i thought of was the conversation i'd had with jon earlier today - we'd been talking about stuff that we wanted to do and mine included para-sailing and various other moderately dangerous activities.
don't let age catch up
jon wouldn't do those things - not that he's pro-safe, it's cause he's pro-life. conversation moved on to life expectancy and how long we thought we'd live. i was guessing 60 [God, let me live longer] but as long as i filled it up, it'd be alright. andy cadecott died doing what he loved, but he was only 41. he had [hypothetically] another 41 years to live, but he lost it all in one moment of rallying.
be consistent, safe and steady; or risk it all for happiness
value life. God created us to die in the end, but not before we'd actually DONE something. something could mean anything - we don't all have to be edison or gates. we have to be kim, and jess, and sarah, and... jon, and richard, and... uhm...kevin.
when you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice [quote from someone]
choice: do what you want [fighter pilot, photojournalist, professional footballer].. or be safe [accountant, economist, librarian].
the most important thing is to keep yourself alive
